.: Roba el Ehaliyeh by Ionous :. My farcical contribution to the Christmas 2019 1024 jam, generously run by Fairweather. Filename: xj19_ionous.zip Authors: Ionous Email address: voice.of.the.nephilim@gmail.com Description: Small (1024 ^ 3) map clad in mostly Knave textures. Single Player: Yes Cooperative: No Deathmatch: No Difficulty Settings: Yes Base: My imagination Editors used: Trenchbroom. Textures: Mostly Knave and variations on said theme. Build Time: Maybe two months of work spread out over sixteen months. Map background: I had originally planned to release this for the 2018 event. A plan blindingly foolish in its optimism. I barely finished it for this one. I did have a story planned out, with a clear narrative arc, but it was lost in the crunch. The timeframe is the 1950s, a devout Catholic archiologist tracking Sumerian ruins. The place he finds corrupts him, and fashions him into a tool of murder. A leal servant of Shub-Niggurath, who uses this place to find her zealots. Only traces of this remain in the map. Aethethiscally, I'm pleased with how the map came out. It isn't 100% optimized for space, but comes rather close. Thanks: Thanks to Sock for Arcane Dimensions. Thanks to Fairweather for fixing a lot of my dumb errors on this map, and running the event. Thanks to onetruepurple for beta testing. Thanks to Greenwood for beta testing. Thanks to func_msgboard and fellow Quakers on Twitter for the encouragement on the shots I posted, and for keeping the Quake legacy alive and well. Thanks to my wife for not strangling me while working on this in between juggling a newborn. Thanks to my new son for being the new light of my life. - Disclaimer / legal stuff: Legalese. Legalese. I made this map. Don't fuck with it without my permission, or modify its conten, without contacting me first. Unless you're Skacky. Skacky, you have carte blache.
